Yavneh BYOD Wi-Fi - RM Certificate Installation


The RM certificate is correctly installed for this device - you do not need to take any further action.


Unfortunately the RM certificate does not appear to be correctly installed on this device - please follow the instructions below for your device type. If you are struggling please see Network Support.

Please use Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome web browser.

Click here to download the RM certificate.

Open the downloaded RMEducationCA SHA384.crt. It may prompt you that this file type may harm your computer, click 'Keep/Open anyway'

Click on the 'Install Certificate...' button to launch the Certificate Import Wizard.

Make sure 'Current User' is selected and click 'Next'

Select 'Place all certificates in the following store' and click 'Browse'

Select 'Trusted Root Certification Authorties' from the store and click 'OK'

Click 'Next' then 'Finish'

When prompted 'Do you want to install this certificate' click 'Yes'

Once installed, close your web browser completely and re-open it.

If you use your Yavneh email address to login to your Chromebook the certificate is automatically deployed (no further action needed). For personal Google accounts follow the steps below:

  1. Click here to download the certificate (RMEducationCA SHA384.crt) to your Downloads folder.
  2. Click the 'Copy text' button
  3. Click here to open a new tab in Chrome and paste the text from step 2 in the address bar (Ctrl + V on your keyboard)
  4. Click on the 'Authorities' tab and then 'Import'
  5. You should see RMEducationCA SHA394.crt in your Downloads folder - double click on this file.
  6. Tick 'Trust this certificate for all three boxes' and click 'OK'.
  7. Refresh the Yavneh BYOD page and it should show a green tick to confirm the certificate is installed.

Open the downloaded RMEducationCA SHA384.crt which will either open Keychain Access or ask you if you want to add it to your login keychain. You may be prompted for your Mac password.

Type rm edu in the search box (top right) and press enter:

Find RM Education...Authority in the list and double click to open:

  1. Click on the arrow > next to Trust to open
  2. When using this certificate: Select Always Trust
  3. Click the red close button. Enter your Apple password and click Update Settings.

iOS

  • Click here to download the certificate (RMEducationCA SHA384.crt)
  • Your device will prompt to download a configuration profile - tap 'Allow'
  • Navigate to Settings - 'Profile Downloaded' and tap on 'Install'. You will need to enter your passcode.
  • Navigate to Settings -> General -> About and scroll down to Certificate Trust. Switch on the RM Education Root Certification Authoritory and tap 'Continue'
  • Android

  • Click here to download the certificate (RMEducationCA SHA384.crt) onto your Android device.
  • Navigate to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi preferences and tap Advanced to get the "Install certificates" option.
  • Select the file you downloaded in Step 1.
  • On the "Name the certificate" screen, give the certificate a name and press the OK button.
  • You can verify that the certificate is installed by going to Settings > Security > Trusted Credentials > User.
